Essential to the Japanese tea ceremony, this bamboo whisk is crafted according to Japanese traditions and artisanal expertise. Since matcha is a green tea powder that cannot be infused, it must be stirred. The traditional utensil, known as a "chasen," is specially designed for preparing matcha tea.

Use

Before first use, place the chasen in a bowl of hot water for 10 to 15 minutes to relax the stems.

Place the matcha powder in a bowl, then add a little hot water (maximum 75°C). Take your chasen whisk and whisk vigorously in a "W" motion.

After 20 seconds, you will see a beautiful creamy foam forming on the surface of your drink, and it's ready to enjoy!

Interview

Rinse this whisk with cold water without using any cleaning products. Let it dry upright, stems upwards, in the open air in a dry place. You can also place it on a stand provided for this purpose: the naoshi.

To prevent mold and preserve the taste of your matcha, do not put it back in its case.

The lifespan of a chasen is approximately 300 uses.
